I had the opportunity to be a witness for YAHWEH when I went into a supermarket the other day. When I entered the supermarket I could not remember what my wife had asked me to buy. I remembered that it was two of one item but not what the item was. I could not call her because she does not have a phone available. So I started to walk around the aisle looking at the things on the shelves. I could hear the Holy Spirit saying to me don’t worry you will leave here with what you came for. He said what I have been hearing from Him quite regularly recently, ‘Trust me’.
‘Run with As I stood there listening to Him, He suddenly said to me, ‘What is it that you have that I have brought into your life that is the most important thing? When I thought about it I had to respond ‘Hope ‘, He saidit’. So as I looked across to the left of me I saw a Security Guard standing in the corner of the aisle just quiet by himself. So I thought He must have needed some encouragement. I walked over to him and started a conversation. He was quick to respond to my boldness. And the conversation continued.
I had asked him some basic questions like what is his name, where does he live and what is his phone number. He said that his name was Andrew, he lived in San Juan and that he did not have a phone. After we spoke for a while he told me that He was from Jamaica. I did not notice that he had a Jamaican accent until afterward. We spoke about several things for example I enquired from him what it has been like since he has been in Trinidad. He said that he has been here for two months and that it has not been too difficult. He has been working continuously and he has not had many bad experiences.
I shared with him my knowledge of people that I know from Jamaica and other countries. I know a Jamaican family that lives in Valencia. I was close to a young man who I met when I was coach of the Valencia Secondary School cricket team. He sometime complained that he did not have it easy in Trinidad because he was from Jamaica. His aunt who drives taxi also told me that they were treated like second class citizens because they were not nationals. She explained that getting Jobs were extremely difficult and getting help from government institutions.
We also chatted about sports. He said that he plays football to keep fit. I told him that I recently retired and that I am going to the gym to keep fit. He said that the Almighty has given young people the abilities and talents to provide them with careers when they get older. The talk rolled around to sprinting. He said that he thinks Usain Bolts 100 m récord can be broken. He said there is a young man in Jamaica running some good times. I was not so sure because Usain was an extraordinary freak of nature. There has never before in track and field been an athlete 6 ft 5 ins or more been able to run anything even remotely like Usain. It is so uncommon. Therefore if an athlete is 5ft 11 ins all things being equal he would never be able to run as fast as a 6 ft 5 ins athlete simply because the latter will take less strides to complete the race. For that reason alone it will be very difficult to break Usain’s record.
We also spoke about his religious beliefs. He said that he is not a christian but his family are Seventh Day Adventists. He attended church in the past and he has a relationship with God. Andrew said that they are in the three angels ministry. His mother, father and grand-mother have been his guiding lights from birth and they have given him the upbringing that have made him the man he is today. He said that life is no game. He realises that we have one life to live yes but we get more than one chance to get it right.
So it is at this point that I started to put in my two cents in the conversation. I told him of my experiences with mental illness and how Yahshua healed me a couple months ago and about my relationship with YAHWEH. When I told him that I have the Holy Spirit and I hear His voice leading, guiding and comforting me he became slightly disturbed. So I quoted John 10: 27-30. And I asked him if the Holy Spirit is the Comforter then how does He do that? Obviously He has to speak it. He was in disbelief saying that how can I hear from God Himself. It might seem like blasphemy to some people but that is exactly what the Holy Scriptures say.
So I started to tell him that life is not about accumulating things, making money, or even being successful, As some people put it, but it is about learning to trust YAHWEH and Yahshua. That is why the scripture says, Seeks first the Kingdom of YAHWEH and everything else will be added to you. If we have YAHWEH we have everything. He is our reason for being. In the book of Hebrews it says, Without faith it is impossible to please Him. Faith is having utter trust in Elohim. If we are learning to trust Him we are letting go all our insecurities, doubts and fears.
It is a wonderful thing to hear the word of YAHWEH and obey it. This may not happen automatically for most of us when we first surrender to FATHER YAHWEH. This is so because being born into this world we are subjected to the Power of sin. This means our hearts are in darkness. And when we repent and come into the light it is a bit painful at first because our eyes are not used to the brightness. So we have to get used to it and we like little children learning to walk fall and it is difficult to get up when we are beginners. But we don’t give up and say we are not going to continue, we try again until we eventually learn how to walk.
The spiritual life is the same thing. We have to grow by overcoming obstacles, trials, persecution, the world, our sinful flesh and the devil. We accomplish all these tasks by simply learning to trust in YAHWEH and His Son Yahshua. When we trust them we place all the things that concern us in their hands and we judge them faithful to keep everything safe. So, when we read that we must believe in order to receive we simply expect that the things we ask for will be granted.
In the beginning we don’t know the Father enough or know His ways enough. But as time goes on we learn what pleases Him and what does not. The presence of His Holy Spirit gives us guidance, comfort, it teaches us how to live this life. We little by little start to trust Him with more and more things as we see Him do more and more for us. The inner witness gives us confidence to branch out to more and more challenges. He is not unreasonable because He gives us many chances to get our lives in order. At some point we have to come to the realization that He is very fair and caring and just in all that He does. When we reach this point and we are still failing in our walk we must get serious with our selves and start to pray more intensely, get in more Bible study, put out of our lives the habits, the people, the places, the situations and the things that are drawing us away from our Creator.
Sometimes it means cutting off things or people who have been integral parts of our lives for a very long time. This is a painful experience because it may be someone you love and care for deeply. You may have tried every option there is to resolve the problem but to no avail. It becomes obvious that the only solution is to separate ties. The Heavenly Father knows what the real situation is so giving the problem to Him and leaving it in His hands is the best thing we can do. He is not unjust to let you continue to suffer without helping you to cope or bringing you out of that situation altogether.
After witnessing to Andrew I walked around the supermarket to see if I could trigger my memory concerning the item that I came to purchase. I saw bottles of water. This may have been it I thought. So I asked the Spirit if this was it. He said that I would leave here with what I came for. I could not remember what she actually said. I found myself walking out of the supermarket. I had put on the WiFi sometime ago. I went into the bathroom outside and prayed. Just then I got the idea to call the neighbour next door. The first neighbour was not home so I called the other neighbour and he answered. He called Lolila and she tol

d him what it was and he relayed it to me. Just as the Holy Spirit said I was able to leave the supermarket with the two packs of bird food.
Praise YAHWEH. He is worthy to be praised. Blessings and honor and glory to YAHWEH. So brethren may YAHWEH richly bless you and keep you in Yahshua’s Holy name.
