BIBLE STUDY: Spiritual Warfare 5 (cont.) - The Sword of the Spirit

Ephesians 6: 17 states: Also put on "the helmet of salvation," and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of YAHWEH;( Isaiah 49: 2; Hosea 6: 5)

.... The devil did not stop there he took Yahshua into the holy city put him on the edge of the temple and said to Him, ' If You are the Son of YHWH throw yourself down. For it has been written 'He shall command His messengers concerning You and 'In their hands they shall bear you up, so that you do not dash your foot against a stone, 'He was using the scriptures out of context. Yahshua said to him it has also been written, 'You shall not try YHWH your Elohim. Once again He used the sword of the Spirit to deflect the Devils attack. We must abide in Yahshua and let His words abide in us ( John 15: 4). It is this word that gives us the power to disarm the enemy. His word can be found throughout the Holy Scriptures.

We cannot say we are abiding in Him if we are not studying His word and applying it to our lives. The Holy Spirit in us will bring His words to our remembrance if we are praying to YHWH and trusting in Him daily. He just wants to see an attitude and willingness to do what He says to do. Keep practising thanking Him, believing what He says we are and can do, responding to His voice in obedience, fighting a good fight of faith, praying in the Spirit and watching to this same thing with all perseverance and petition concerning all the saints.

We have to do what Yahshua says and not be hearers of the word only and not doers (Jam. 1: 22; Rom. 2: 13). He wants us to pray or ask Him for all that we need and want. This will set in motion the process of faith and works. Every time we fall or stop praying, reading His word, trusting in Him or when we feel as if we can't go on. He is there to lift us up, encourage yourself, think about all that He has already brought you though.

Joshua Chapter 1: verse 8, it says . This book of the torah shall not depart out of your mouth, and you shall meditate on it by day and by night,s so that you will be on guard to do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall prosper your way and then you shall walk wisely. It's very important to have YHWH's word in our hearts and minds constantly. Because He Father YHWH has everything that we need. And Yahshua ever lives to make intercession for us ( Heb. 7: 25).

In a natural battle our expertise in using our weapons gives us the opportunity to win the battle or become a casualty. I our fight against the evil spiritual forces we have to become skilled in using all the weapons - prayer worship and scripture. When we pray together with fasting we hit the devil's kingdom with the power of YHWH our Elohim. Even though YHWH can answer the prayer of a sinner this is not the rule as far as the doctrine of Yahshua Messiah is concerned.

The scripture is adamant that Elohim does not hear sinners (John 9:31). But those who are saved and sanctified by the blood of Yahshua. Who are keeping His commandments and doing those things that are pleasing in His sight ( 1 John 3: 22). He is looking for people who are desirous of his praise and honor. Who are not easily side-tracked out of His path. Servants who are willing to be surrendered to His will and obedient to His ways. We have to be determined to ask and seek and knock on His doors until He answers.

He may be answering our prayers but not in the way we think. Because it is his will and not our own that we are suppose to be doing. We as believers cannot walk by sight. We must believe that He is doing all that He promises in His word to fulfill it. He promises that if we remain faithful to Him He will save our whole household (Acts 16: 31). We have to stand on that word. He promises that He will save us if we believe in Him with all our hearts. As we study to show ourselves approved He is equipping us with His armor. Let's make use of it.
